The Recession Roadmap Retreat
November 18, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 3:30 pm
| $19
There’s no such thing as fully “recession-proofing” your life and finances, and anything that promises otherwise is just trying to sell you something. But you can hope for the best while preparing for the worst, and while a looming recession may mean financial hardships, there are many things you can do to protect yourself.
In this half-day retreat, our finance and career experts, hosted by TFD’s co founder and CEO, Chelsea Fagan and Creative Director, Holly Trantham, will help to demystify and destress the prospect of a turbulent market by helping you take back what is in your control.
We’ll invite you to take a hard look at your finances in anticipation of a potentially rough economy. Beyond just bolstering your emergency fund, we’ll cover: how to weather stock market storms, prep your budget for the worst (beyond having a simple emergency fund), and create your professional plan B all while continuing to grow wealth and work towards your long-term goals.

What Your Tickets Gets You:
- Access to the full event (including a recording watchable at your convenience)
- Participation in the live Q&A with all panelists
- A printable workbook that builds on the sessions of the day and provides the tools for recession proofing
- Access to early-bird pricing and discounts for upcoming events
Retreat Sessions:
Building A Recession-Resistant Budget: Led by a debt-free money expert, this workshop will take you through all the steps you need to budget for a recession, from setting up a bare bones budget as a back-up plan to making sure emergency funds go well beyond the normal buffer amount. Attendees will walk away with an actionable checklist and recession-era budget template for their own use.
Investing In A Scary Market: When there’s a market downturn, it’s important to stay the course and keep your investments so they can bounce back and continue to accrue returns in the long run. Led by a CFP and investing expert, this session explain why pulling out of investments during a recession can be a mistake, and how you can stay the course and not let the current market affect your long-term money goals.
The Career Mini-Makeover: There’s no denying that a looming recession brings about the potential for job loss for any of us, no matter how secure we typically feel in our positions. This career “makeover” will walk you through one of the most important things you can do in order to prepare for a recession: adding a new stream of income, and thus another level of financial safety netting, to your life.
Expert Q&A: A 45-minute audience q&a session with panelists at the end of the retreat, led by your hosts!
